A year ago... last March Living a typical suburban life Teaching fifth grade in a sweet school Cooking dinner, shopping, meeting up with friends Exercising at the gym Riled up daily over the political scene Getaway weekends in Montauk, Long Island Catching my breath listening to the crashing of waves Walking the shore searching for sea glass A year ago... last March Hearing and reading about an odd virus overseas Visiting my mother, who is slowly not knowing who I am Driving to NYC to visit my three grown daughters One with a husband and sweet grandson baby Henry One newly married returning from a trip to Africa One making a choice to give up a tenured teaching job Following her love across the country A year ago... last March Feared turning sixty Annual "girls night out" celebration with my dear sister Watching Emma in an empty massive theater Naïve to this last girls night out Following weekend at Mohonk Mountain Lodge All my loves in one place hiking and laughing Returning home to the beginning of the end Of the life we all had known A year ago... last March Participated in TWT SOL20 challenge for the first time Worried how I would find time to write Worried I wouldn’t have enough to write about March ...a year later Teaching virtually Exercising in my basement on my Peloton bike No longer shopping, visiting and driving into NYC Yet, one thing hasn’t changed Two Writing Teachers March Slice of Life Challenge! And hope, that life will become typical once again

What a long, strange trip this has been! It's weird that our anniversary month is upon us. I loved the lines: "All my loves in one place hiking and laughing/Returning home to the beginning of the end/Of the life we all had known." I think we remember more vividly those moments right before it all happened. Well, here's to this March bringing better times ahead...
